Epigenesis is a process in biology that helps us understand how babies develop from a single cell (called a fertilized egg) inside their moms. When a mom and dad's cells combine to make the fertilized egg, it has all the instructions it needs to become a baby. But before it can grow into a baby, that fertilized egg must go through epigenesis, the process where the instructions in the cells are used to make everything the baby needs, like organs and bones. Throughout epigenesis, the same instructions in the cells work together to create more and more cells, and those cells form the baby's body parts and organs. After the baby is born, epigenesis keeps happening in their body until they finish growing.
