ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Epilogism

Okay kiddo, let me explain epilogism to you. Just like how we use our brains to think and make decisions, we also use our brains to reason and come up with arguments. Epilogism is a type of reasoning where we use the information we already know to figure out something new.

Here's an example, imagine you have a toy car that is missing a wheel. You know that the wheel is important for the car to roll properly. So, you can use epilogism and reason that you need to find a replacement wheel in order for the car to work properly.

Another example can be when you're playing a guessing game with your friends. Each person takes a turn guessing the answer to a question, and the others give clues. Based on the clues, you can use epilogism to make a guess about the answer.

So epilogism is all about taking what we already know and using it to figure out something new. Pretty cool, right?
