Equestrian at the Summer Paralympics

In the Summer Paralympics, there is a sport called equestrian. This means that people with disabilities get to ride horses and compete in different events.

One event is called dressage. This is like a horse dance where the rider and the horse have to do specific moves in a special pattern. The judges watch and give them scores based on how well they do the moves and how smooth their ride is.

Another event is called show jumping. This is where the rider and the horse have to jump over different obstacles like fences and walls without knocking them down. The rider has to guide the horse to make it over each obstacle and try to do it as fast as they can without making any mistakes.

There are different categories in equestrian at the Summer Paralympics. Some riders may have only one leg, some have a spinal cord injury, and others may be blind or visually impaired. Each person competes in their own category with others who have similar disabilities so that it is fair for everyone.

Equestrian is a really cool sport because it shows that people with disabilities can do amazing things when they work with their amazing horses.
