Equivalent latitude

Equivalent latitude is a way of comparing different places around the world. It works like a temperature map - if two places have the same equivalent latitude, it means that the places have similar temperatures. For example, New York City in the United States has an equivalent latitude of about 30°N, while Madrid in Spain has an equivalent latitude of about 40°N. That means those two cities have very similar temperatures, even though they are far apart from each other.
