ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Erik Dahlberg

Okay kiddo, Erik Dahlberg was a really smart man who lived a long time ago in Sweden. He was born in the year 1625, which is almost 400 years ago! Erik was an artist, an architect, and also a military officer. That means he had a lot of jobs!

One of the things that Erik was really good at was drawing maps. He drew maps of battles and castles, which helped people understand where things were and how to plan for attacks.

Erik also designed buildings, which means he drew plans for what they would look like and how they would be built. He designed some really beautiful buildings like churches and palaces.

But Erik's most important job was being a military officer. This means he helped protect his country from enemies. He fought in battles and was really good at organizing troops so they could win. He even wrote a book about all the wars he had been in and what he learned from them!

Even though Erik lived a long time ago, people still remember him because he was so good at what he did. He left behind lots of drawings and plans which we can still look at today and learn from. Pretty cool, huh?
