Ethnography is a research process used to study people's cultures, behaviors and experiences. It is an in-depth look at how people live their lives and why they do the things they do. Ethnographers usually spend a lot of time "in the field," just observing people going about their everyday activities. Ethnographers also often talk to people and ask questions to learn more information. The goal is to truly understand what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes. Ethnographers collect data to put together stories, in-depth descriptions, videos or audio recordings.
