ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Etruscan origins

Well, a long long time ago, there was a group of people called the Etruscans who lived in what we now call Italy. Nobody knows exactly where they came from, but some people think they may have been from Asia Minor or somewhere else in the Mediterranean.

The Etruscans were very advanced and had their own unique culture and language. They were really good at making pottery, jewelry, and other beautiful things. They also had a lot of influence on the ancient Romans, who borrowed a lot of ideas from them.

But despite all their achievements, the Etruscans eventually disappeared from history. Nobody really knows what happened to them, but some people think they may have been conquered or assimilated into other cultures over time.

Today, there are still some things that remind us of the Etruscans, like the many ruins and artifacts we've found that show us how they lived. So even though they're gone, their legacy lives on and helps us to understand more about the ancient world.
