Okay kiddo, so there are people in Europe called Jews. They have been living there for thousands of years and they have their own religion called Judaism. Some of them practice it very strictly and some of them don't practice it at all.
But a long time ago, something really bad happened to the Jews in Europe. There was a man named Adolf Hitler who became the leader of Germany, and he did not like Jews at all. He thought they were not good people and he wanted to hurt them.
So, he convinced many Germans to believe the same thing and they started doing terrible things to Jews. They made them wear special clothes to identify them, they took away their businesses and homes, and they even put them into concentration camps where many were killed or mistreated. This is called the Holocaust and it was a very dark time in history.
After the war, things started to get better for Jews in Europe. They were given back their rights and many of them moved to other countries or to Israel, a place where many Jews consider their homeland. But even today, some people still discriminate against Jews and it's important to treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what religion or culture they come from.
