ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Evaporation

Evaporation is like the opposite of rain. It happens when the air around water gets hot and it helps to change the water into vapor or steam. Vapor is like an invisible gas, so it's kind of like the water is disappearing or turning into steam and floating away in the air. The sun's heat causes water to evaporate, which can also make water in the air called humidity. Eventually, the vapor will collect and become clouds, which can then cause rain.
