Evaporite

Evaporation is when a liquid turns into gas. Evaporite is when salt, minerals, and rocks are left behind when water evaporates. To give an example, when a pond or lake dries up, all the water evaporates and the salt and minerals that were in the water are left behind in a layer at the bottom of the lake. Rocks can also get left behind when the water evaporates.
