Evolutionary computation is like playing a game. You have a group of different characters or creatures, and you want them to get better at doing something like catching food or winning a race. So you give each creature the same chance to try doing this. Then you look at which creature did the best, and you make copies of it. You can also change the creatures a little bit, like giving them different colors or abilities. Then you let them compete again and see which one does the best. You keep making more copies of the best ones and changing them until you get the best possible creature. This way, you can use evolution to get better and better creatures over time.
