ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Evolutionary robotics

Evolutionary robotics is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that uses evolution to help robots solve problems. It works by making robots compete against each other in a simulated environment. Each robot is given a set of instructions (or "genes") to complete a task. The robots that complete the task successfully are then copied and given to other robots. Over time, the robots become better and better at solving the task. Eventually, the best robots are selected and used in real life.
