Ewe drumming

Sheep are a kind of animal that often live on farms. Female sheep are called ewes. Ewe drumming is a way that ewes communicate with their lambs.

When a ewe wants to call her lamb over, she will start to "drum" with her front hoof on the ground. This means she stomps her foot over and over again. This makes a sound that her lamb can hear from far away. It's kind of like tapping your foot on the ground to get someone's attention.

The lamb will hear the ewe drumming and know that it's time to come over. Sometimes, the lamb will even start drumming too to let the ewe know that they are coming.
