ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exact division

Imagine you have a bunch of candies and you want to share them equally with your friends. If you have 10 candies and 2 friends, how many candies should each friend get? This is where exact division comes in!

Exact division means you divide something into equal parts and each part is the same size. In our candy example, we can divide the 10 candies into 2 equal parts, which means each friend gets 5 candies. This is exact division because each friend gets the same number of candies, so it's fair for everyone.

In math, we use symbols like ÷ or / to show division. So we could write 10 ÷ 2 or 10/2 to show that we want to divide 10 candies into 2 equal parts. And the answer would be 5 candies per friend because that's what we get when we use exact division.

Exact division is important because it helps us solve problems that have to do with sharing things equally or dividing things into groups. If we didn't use exact division, some people might get more or less than others, which wouldn't be fair.
