Exordium (rhetoric)

Okay kiddo, so have you ever heard someone start talking or giving a speech and they say a really attention-grabbing thing first to get everyone to listen closely? That's called an exordium! It's like when someone says "listen up" or "hey, have you ever thought about this?" before they start talking about their main point. It's a way to introduce what they're going to say and get people interested in hearing more. So basically, exordium is like the warm-up before someone starts their big talk.
