ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Exotropia

Exotropia is when your eyes look outwards, away from each other. It's like when you pretend to be a pirate and look at something really far away with one eye closed and the other eye looking off to the side. Except with exotropia, you can't control it, and it happens all the time. Having exotropia can make it hard to see things clearly, especially if you're trying to read or look at something up close. It can also be hard to judge distances and see things in 3D. But don't worry, there are ways to fix exotropia, like wearing special glasses or doing eye exercises with a doctor.
