Experimental psychology

Experimental psychology is the study of how people behave and think through different situations.

Scientists who study experimental psychology are called psychologists, and they are curious about how people learn, remember, and solve problems.

So, let's say that a psychologist wants to know if kids who read more books do better in school. They might do an experiment where they have two groups of kids, one group who reads a lot of books, and another group who reads very few books.

The psychologist would have the kids take a test at the beginning and end of the experiment to see if the kids who read more books did better on the test than the kids who didn't. They would also look at other factors that might influence the results, like the kids' ages, their social backgrounds, or their motivation to do well in school.

Experimental psychology can help us understand how people process information, make decisions, and react to different situations. So, the next time you're curious why people behave the way they do, remember that there might be an experimental psychologist trying to figure it out!
