ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Explicit memory

Explicit memory is the type of memory that helps you remember things that you have consciously experienced. It includes things like remembering what your teacher said in school, or the name of your best friend when you were a kid. When you try to remember something, like a person's name or what you ate for lunch yesterday, that is an example of explicit memory.
