Expulsion of Jews and Muslims from Portugal

A long time ago, in a country called Portugal, some people who believed in different things had to leave their homes and go to other places. Some of these people were called Jews and some were called Muslims. The Portuguese people who ruled the country did not want these people to live there anymore because they did not believe in the same things as they did.

This means that they did not like the way that the Jews and Muslims worshipped their gods and did their religious practices. They thought that the Jews and Muslims were different from them and did not belong in their country. So, they told them to leave and go somewhere else.

This made the Jews and Muslims very sad because they had to leave behind their homes, families, and friends. They did not want to leave but they had to because it was the law in Portugal. It was a very difficult time for them as they had to find new places to live and start their lives again in those new places.

Even though this happened a long time ago, we can still learn from it and try to be kind and accepting of people who have different beliefs and cultures from us. We should not judge people based on their religion but accept them for who they are as individuals.
