F-1 Visa

An F-1 visa is a special kind of permission slip that allows someone from another country to come to the United States to study at a college or university.

So let's say you are a little kid who lives in another country, and you want to go to college in the United States. Before you can do that, you need to get an F-1 visa.

Getting an F-1 visa is like getting a special paper that tells the United States government that you are allowed to come to this country to study. It's like getting permission from your parents to go on a field trip to the zoo, but instead of your parents, you have to get permission from the United States government.

Once you have your F-1 visa, you can come to the United States and go to college. You have to follow certain rules while you are here, like going to school and not causing trouble. If you break one of these rules, you might have to go back home to your own country.

So that's what an F-1 visa is - it's a special permission slip that lets you come to the United States to study at a college or university.
