ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

F-block

F-block elements are a group of elements on the periodic table. They are all in the column below the main body of the table and are called the 'inner transition' elements. They are called f-block elements because they come after the 'd-block' elements and the name of the d-block elements starts with the letter 'd'. F-block elements are very special because they all have their outermost energy levels filled with electrons and are very stable. They are also important to us, because they are used to make many useful things like medicines, lights, and tools.
