FGM stands for Female Genital Mutilation. It is a practice where a person’s private parts (like the vulva, clitoris, and/or labia) are cut without their permission. It is something that can cause a lot of pain and can even be dangerous. It is not done for medical reasons and it is not allowed in most countries, including the United States. FGM can cause long-term health problems. It is important to speak up when you see or hear about FGM happening so it can be stopped.
