FMEDA

FMEDA stands for Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis. It's a way for engineers to make sure that a product won't fail in dangerous ways.

Imagine you have a toy with lots of different parts. Some of these parts might break or stop working over time. If one of those parts is important to keeping the toy safe, then the toy could become dangerous if it fails.

Engineers use FMEDA to understand what parts are most likely to fail and how. Then they figure out how dangerous it would be if each of those failures happened. Finally, they design the product in a way that makes it harder for those failures to happen or makes it easier to detect them before they become dangerous.

So basically, FMEDA helps engineers make sure that products are safe and reliable, so that you can play with your toys without worrying about anything breaking and hurting you.
