Fabry disease

Okay kiddo, so do you know what molecules are? They are like tiny Lego pieces that build everything in our bodies. Sometimes, some Lego pieces are missing or they are the wrong shape. This can cause something called Fabry Disease.

Fabry Disease happens when a special molecule called GLA is missing or not working right in our bodies. This molecule helps clean up other molecules that are old and need to be removed. Without it, these old molecules build up and can cause problems.

These problems can be things like pain in our hands and feet, problems with our vision, or even issues with our heart and kidneys. It can make us very sick and cause a lot of discomfort.

But don't worry, there are doctors and scientists working to find ways to help people with Fabry Disease. They are making special medicines that can replace the missing GLA molecule and clean everything up again. It's like giving our bodies the right Lego pieces to build things correctly.

So, that's Fabry Disease in a nutshell. It's when a special molecule is missing or not working right, and it can cause some big problems. But we have some smart people working to fix it!
