A Fabry-Pérot interferometer is an optical tool that uses a special kind of mirror. It helps us look inside special materials to see what they are made of.
The interferometer has two mirrors that are put very close together. Light shines between the mirrors and bounces back and forth between them. As it passes back and forth, the light creates an interference pattern that scientists can measure. By looking at this interference pattern, they can figure out what is inside that material.
