Facebook–Cambridge Analytica data scandal

Facebook is a website that lets people connect with friends, family and people from all over the world. Cambridge Analytica is a company which helps people and organisations to influence people's decisions. In this scandal, Cambridge Analytica got information from Facebook about millions of people without their permission. This information was used to influence people's decisions in the US Presidential Election in 2016. This is bad because the people didn't give consent for the information to be used for those purposes.
