ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Facet (psychology)

Facet (psychology) is a way for psychologists to help people understand and talk about their experiences. It's a way of breaking thoughts and feelings into smaller, better-understood pieces.

Imagine that your experience was like a big jigsaw puzzle. Without facet (psychology), it would be very hard to figure out what each piece was and how it fit together. But when you break it down into smaller pieces, it can make it much easier to understand and talk about.

Facet (psychology) is like a puzzle with very small pieces. Each piece is called a "facet" and it's a tiny bit of the experience that you can focus on and talk about. By breaking it down into smaller pieces, it can help make it easier to understand what's going on and how all the pieces fit together.
