Fairchild XC-120 Packplane

Okay kiddo, so you know how planes have seats that people sit in, right? Well, sometimes people need to move things around with planes too, like big heavy equipment or even other planes! That's where the Fairchild XC-120 Packplane comes in.

The Packplane is like a giant truck but for the sky! It can carry really heavy loads, up to 23 tons (that's like 46,000 pounds, wow!). It has big flaps on the back that can open up and fold down like a truck bed. That's where the cargo goes.

But the Packplane can't fly alone, it needs help from another airplane called a "mother ship." The mother ship carries the Packplane up into the sky because the Packplane is really big and heavy and needs a boost to take off.

Once the mother ship gets the Packplane up to a certain altitude, the Packplane can disconnect and fly on its own. Then it can go deliver its cargo wherever it needs to go, whether it's in a remote location or even on the other side of the world!

So, that's the Fairchild XC-120 Packplane. It's a really special airplane that can help move really big and heavy things all around the world.
