Fallas
Hello there! Today I'm going to explain to you what "fallas" are.
Fallas is a type of celebration that takes place in the city of Valencia, Spain. It happens every year from the 15th to the 19th of March. During this time, people from all around the city come together to enjoy a festival filled with loud music, bright colors, and lots of fun!
One of the main things you'll see during Fallas are big sculptures made of paper mache, wood, and other materials. These sculptures can be as tall as a house and are called "ninots." They usually depict characters from cartoons, movies, or famous people, but sometimes they can just be silly sculptures too.
Throughout the week, these ninots are displayed throughout the city for everyone to see. People can walk around and take pictures with them, and they're even lit up at night, which makes them look even more amazing!
At the end of the festival, on the night of March 19th, there's a big event called the "cremà." This is when all of the ninots are set on fire, except for the one that's voted the best. The winner, called the "ninot indultat," is saved from being burned and put on display in a museum for everyone to see.
