Fat Leonard scandal

Okay, so imagine there is a group of adults who work together to help protect and defend their country by using big ships called "Navy ships". One of the people who sells things to these Navy ships is a man called "Fat Leonard".

Now, Fat Leonard is not a very good man. He does something called "bribery" which means he gives people money or presents so that they will do what he wants. This is not fair or right and is against the law.

But unfortunately, some of the adults who work with the Navy ships were not very honest. They took the gifts and money from Fat Leonard and in return, they let him know some of the secret things the Navy was doing. This is called "leaking" information and it is very dangerous because it could put people in danger.

Eventually, the adults who were doing these bad things were caught and they got in trouble with the law. This was called the "Fat Leonard Scandal". It was a big problem for the Navy because they need to trust the people who work with them to keep secret things a secret and to always do the right thing.
