Fault injection

Fault injection is when you deliberately introduce bugs or errors into a computer system in order to make it fail or behave in an unexpected way. It's like deliberately putting a tiny pebble into a working machine to make it stop. Those pebbles are like the bugs and errors that you introduce to the computer system through fault injection.
