Fault scarp

A fault scarp is like a big bump in the ground that is created when two pieces of Earth's crust move against each other. It's kind of like how your skin gets a bump when you scrape your knee.

Sometimes, the ground can move slowly and the bump might not be very noticeable. Other times, the ground can move really quickly and the bump can be very big.

The fault scarp can be helpful to scientists because it shows them where the fault is located and how much the ground has moved. It can also help them study earthquakes and other natural events that affect the Earth's surface.
