Fear of crime

Fear of crime is when you are scared of becoming a victim of a crime, even if you haven't actually been the victim of a crime. For example, if you hear that a lot of robberies are happening in your neighborhood, you might start to be scared that you might be robbed. So even though nobody has robbed you yet, you still have this fear of becoming a victim of a crime.
