Federal Council of Australasia

Okay kiddo, so you know how we have different states in Australia, like New South Wales and Victoria? Well, a long time ago, there was a group called the Federal Council of Australasia, which was made up of people from those states and a few others too.

Basically, they wanted to work together and make some important decisions for the whole group, like what rules we should all follow and how we should handle things like trade and immigration.

It was kind of like a big club where everyone could talk and decide things together. They even made their own flag and had their own meetings to chat about what was going on in each of the states.

However, the Federal Council of Australasia didn't last forever. Eventually, they all decided to form a bigger club – the Commonwealth of Australia – which is what we have now. It's like one big team with one set of rules that covers all the states and territories in the country.

So although the Federal Council of Australasia isn't around anymore, it was an important step on the way to creating our Australia as we know it today!
