Federated search

Federated Search is like using a search engine to look stuff up. You type in some words and it gives you a list of places to look. But you don't have to go to all those places. Instead, the search engine looks at them for you and brings back the relevant results from all of them. So it saves you time and effort when you need to do lots of different searches.
