The Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) is a group of organisations around Europe that have joined together to share their knowledge, ideas and resources about microbes, which are very small living things that people can’t usually see with just our eyes. FEMS helps bring all the different European societies together so they can work together on lots of different projects related to microbes, and also so that new people who are interested in learning about microbes can find out about them from many different sources. FEMS helps to organise meetings, conferences and other events related to microbes so that everyone can come together and learn about them, and also help spread the word about them so more people can start understanding them.
