Feminisation of poverty

Okay kiddo, so you know how there are some people who are rich and some people who are poor?

Well, sometimes there are more girls and women who are poor than boys and men. This is called the feminisation of poverty.

There are a few reasons why this happens. One reason is that girls and women often have a harder time getting a good education or a good job. They might also have to take on more responsibility at home, taking care of children and elderly relatives, which makes it harder for them to work outside the home.

Another reason is that girls and women often don't get paid as much as boys and men for doing the same job. This means that they earn less money over their lifetime, which can make it harder for them to save money or afford things they need.

Overall, it's not fair that girls and women are more likely to be poor than boys and men. We need to work on making sure everyone has the same opportunities to succeed no matter what their gender is.
