Fibroblasts are special cells in our body that help to keep us healthy and heal us when we get hurt. They are like little factories that produce materials our body needs.
Whenever we get a cut, for example, fibroblasts work hard to make new collagen and other substances that form a kind of glue to hold our tissues together while they heal. They do this by stretching out long tentacle-like arms to grab onto nearby tissue and create new connections.
Fibroblast cells look a bit like tiny sausages with lots of long arms coming out of them. They are found all throughout our body, from our skin to our muscles to our bone marrow.
So, in short, fibroblasts are important cells that help us heal and keep our bodies healthy.
