Okay kiddo, so the World Games is a special event where a bunch of really good athletes from all over the world come together to show off their skills in different kinds of sports that aren't in the regular Olympics.
One of the sports they had in the 2009 World Games was called field archery. Archery is where people use a bow and arrow to shoot at targets, kind of like in the movies when people shoot bows in those old timey battle scenes.
Field archery is a special type of archery where you don't just shoot at targets that are really close to you. Instead, you walk around a big outdoor area and shoot at targets that are far away from you, like 20 or even 50 yards away. You have to use your eyes to judge how far away the target is and how much power you need to put into the bowstring to shoot the arrow far enough to hit it.
At the World Games, there were lots of really good archers from all over the world who competed against each other in field archery by shooting arrows at different targets that were set up in the course. The archers had to be really careful to aim at the right spot so they could score the most points.
They also had to be really safe and make sure they didn't shoot their arrows at people by accident! The archers had to follow some rules about where to stand and when to shoot to keep everyone safe.
In the end, the archer who scored the most points by hitting the targets the most accurately and consistently won the gold medal. It was really exciting to watch and showed how talented and skilled some people can be at archery!
