ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Financial Crisis Responsibility Fee

You know how when you play with your toys, you need to clean them up after you're done? Well, in the grown-up world, people have jobs and they buy things they need and want, but sometimes they are not very good at taking care of their money. This can cause some problems, like when they borrow too much money and they can't pay it back.

When a lot of people do this at the same time, it's called a financial crisis, and it can hurt a lot of other people who didn't do anything wrong. So, the government came up with an idea to help fix this problem. They made something called a financial crisis responsibility fee.

The fee is like a fine that the people who caused the problem have to pay. It's kind of like when you accidentally break something at a birthday party and you have to help pay for it. In this case, the banks and other businesses that caused the financial crisis have to pay some extra money to the government so they can help fix the mess they made.

The idea is that everyone needs to do their part to help clean up the big mess that happened, not just the people who got hurt by it. This way, everyone can learn from their mistakes and make better choices with their money in the future.
