Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program

Imagine you are playing with fire trucks and pretending to be a firefighter. Firefighters are people who help put out fires and keep people safe.

Sometimes, firefighters get hurt or even die while doing their job. This can be very sad and scary for everyone, especially for other firefighters and the families of the ones who got hurt or passed away.

To help prevent this from happening, there are special programs called Firefighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Programs. These programs are like detectives who investigate what happened when a firefighter gets hurt or dies on the job.

They look at everything that happened leading up to the accident, like what equipment was being used and how the firefighters were working together. They also talk to other firefighters who were there and ask them questions about what they saw and heard.

Once they figure out what happened, the investigators make recommendations on how to prevent that same thing from happening again in the future. This means that other firefighters can learn from what happened and be safer when they are working.

It's important to have these programs so that firefighters can do their job safely and protect the people in their community without getting hurt.
