First contact (science fiction)

When we talk about first contact in science fiction, it means when humans meet aliens from other planets for the first time. Imagine you are in your house and you suddenly hear a knock on the door. You have never seen the person outside before. This is how it feels for humans when they encounter beings from another planet.

Scientists believe that there may be other forms of life in the universe, similar or different from us. However, we have not yet found any signs of life except on Earth.

In science fiction, first contact can happen in many ways. Sometimes the aliens reach out to us and introduce themselves, while other times, we accidentally stumble upon them. Some aliens are friendly and peaceful, while others are aggressive and want to attack humans.

When humans first make contact with aliens, there are a lot of questions to answer. Why are they here? What do they want? How can we communicate with them, since they might have a different language or way of speaking?

Furthermore, it is possible that we might not be able to understand the aliens at all, which could lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. First contact is, therefore, an exciting and scary concept because it introduces the possibility of the unknown.
