Five and dime

A five and dime is a store that sells lots of things that cost only five or ten cents (hence the name, "five and dime"). Think of it like a really big penny jar that you can go to when you need something to buy. You can find all sorts of cool stuff at a five and dime, like candy, toys, pencils, and even cheap clothes. These stores were really popular a long time ago, but these days you're more likely to see them in old movies or hear about them from your parents or grandparents.
