Flechette

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a dart with a bunch of tiny, sharp metal rods sticking out of it. That's a flechette! It's really good at piercing things because of all those little metal rods.

Now, sometimes people use flechettes in war or military situations because they can be fired out of a shotgun or a missile and they can damage things like armor, vehicles, or buildings.

But flechettes are also very dangerous because they can cause a lot of harm to people. That's why they're not used very much anymore and are not usually allowed in civilian situations.

So if you ever see or hear the word "flechette", just remember it's like a super sharp dart with a lot of little metal rods that can hurt things really badly.
