Flooding (Australian football)

In Australian football, flooding means when lots of players from one team all crowd around the ball during a game. Imagine a big group of kids all trying to get the same toy at once, that's what it's like when a lot of players flood to the same spot on the field. This can make it really hard for the other team to get the ball or move it forward, and can sometimes make the game slower and less exciting to watch. Coaches might tell their players to flood in certain situations to help their team, but referees might also penalize them if they do it too much.
