ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Florence Rush

Okay kiddo, I'll do my best to explain what Florence Rush is. Florence Rush is actually a person, not a thing. She was a woman who lived a long time ago and she was really important because she fought for women's rights.

You see, a long time ago, women didn't have the same rights as men. They weren't allowed to vote, go to school, or even work in certain jobs. This was really unfair and made life hard for women.

Florence Rush saw how unfair this was and decided to do something about it. She wrote books and gave speeches that talked about how women should have the same rights as men. She also helped start groups where women could get together and work for their rights.

Thanks to Florence Rush and other women like her, things started to change. Women eventually gained more rights, like the right to vote and go to school. We still have a long way to go to have complete equality, but Florence Rush was a big part of making things better for women.
