ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Florence Storgoff

Florence Storgoff was a brave lady who lived a long time ago. She was a spy for her country during World War II.

Being a spy means that she worked secretly to help her country in a dangerous time, like a special detective. Florence worked for the United States but she had to go to Europe to gather information from the bad guys.

Florence didn't just talk to people and get information. She had to use some really sneaky tricks to get the information she needed without getting caught by the bad guys. She even had to pretend to be someone else to get the information she needed.

She was a really important person because she gave valuable information to her country's leaders so that they could make smart decisions to win the war.

Even though being a spy is a really tough job, Florence was really brave and put herself in harm's way to help her country. She was a real hero and her courage inspired others to have courage too.
