Flotsam and jetsam

Flotsam and jetsam are both words to describe things that are floating in the water. Flotsam is the name for things that have been accidentally left in the water like things that have fallen off of boats or washed away from the shore after a storm. Jetsam is the name for things that have been deliberately thrown into the water, like garbage thrown off of boats.
