Flue-gas desulfurization

Hi there! Let's talk about something called flue-gas desulfurization. Imagine you are cooking something yummy on the stove and smoke comes out. We have many factories that make things and they also release smoke. This smoke is called flue-gas.

Now, this flue-gas is not good for our planet. It contains a pollutant called sulfur dioxide which can create acid rain and harm our environment. So, we need to remove this sulfur dioxide from the flue-gas. That's what flue-gas desulfurization does.

Flue-gas desulfurization is like a big magical cleaning machine that removes sulfur dioxide from the flue-gas. It works like this, first the flue-gas is captured and then mixed with a special liquid called a scrubber. This scrubber is very good at capturing sulfur dioxide. As soon as flue-gas comes into contact with the scrubber, it grabs the sulfur dioxide and removes it from the flue-gas. After this process, we get a much cleaner gas that is less harmful to the environment.

So, to sum it up, flue-gas desulfurization is a way to clean the smoke that comes out of factories and remove harmful pollutants like sulfur dioxide. It's like a cleaning machine that makes the air cleaner and better for everyone to breathe.
