Fluorescence image-guided surgery

Fluorescence image-guided surgery is a way to help doctors see better inside a patient's body without making a big cut. During the surgery, a special dye is injected into the patient. This dye glows in a deep-red colour, which is easy to see. The light from the dye helps the doctor see what they are doing while they are operating. The dye also shows where cancer or other problems are so the doctor can remove them more easily.
